The Planning Bill: Proposals To Allow Non-material Changes To Planning Permission

It is the more controversial proposals in the Planning Bill that have attracted the most interest—the proposed Infrastructure Planning Commission, the Community Infrastructure Levy and member reviews of officer decisions have claimed and held the limelight. But the Bill covers a host of other matters, some of which have so far crept under the radar, and some of which raise some interesting questions. One such matter is the proposal to confer on local planning authorities a statutory power to make "non-material changes to planning permission" by inserting a new s.96A into the 1990 Act.
