The future of Regional Spatial Strategies and the Regional Assemblies

At a time when most people involved and concerned about Town and Country Planning were busy making their responses to the White Paper on planning reform, the Treasury published a report "Enhancing the Effectiveness of Sub-National Economic Development" which proposes abolishing the Regional Assemblies and to give to the Regional Development Agencies the job of preparing a new integrated Regional Strategy which will include spatial planning.
