Using a comparison method in field studies of the optical characteristics of objects

This paper discusses questions of field measurements of the optical characteristics of objects and scenes by a comparison method, including methods that involve active illumination and the features of putting the method into practice, as well as the basic aspects of the creation and metrological assurance of the comparison standards.
