New England Water Works Association Annual Executive Director and Staff Report

In March of 2019 when I assumed the role of executive director I never would have thought that I'd be "celebrating" my 1-year anniversary with shutting our office down, sending all employees to their homes to work, and canceling the largest event we hold each year.However, despite this unbelievable turn of events, NEWWA's staff, volunteers, and membership came together to prove, once again, that this organization is comprised of some of the most dedicated and talented people in the water works business. Within 2 weeks of NEWWA's offices closing to the public, the training staff were able to convert the already-in-session 12-week exam review courses to an online format. In addition, the Program Committee, responsible for the technical programs at both our major conferences as well as membership meetings, shifted gears, multiple times, to first, work to reschedule the Spring Conference, then second, work through its eventual cancellation, and finally, come back together to ensure the continued planning and scheduling of the Fall Conference as well as July 2020 membership meeting, both of which were offered online.
