Code choice in the language classroom

Aimed at teachers, future teachers and teacher educators, this presentation of theoretical and pedagogical tools for creating multilingual communities of practice is meant to increase awareness of the contribution that the first language (LI) can make to second-language (L2) learning. The initial chapters, in which a 'curricular architecture' (8) for secondary and post-secondary L2 language classrooms is described, create a theoretical and empirical foundation for the rest of the volume.
