PROBLEMS AND STRATEGIES FOR CONSERVATION OF PIER LUIGI NERVI'S HERITAGE

Pier Luigi Nervi's heritage is today at risk. Some iconic works are undergoing heavy transformation while some others are facing serviceability losses and, in some cases, neglect or even abandon. It is important to raise awareness on this extraordinary legacy, define the criteria for selecting the works to be preserved at any cost as well as for their renovation and rehabilitation. The international travelling exhibition, Pier Luigi Nervi: Architecture as Challenge, represents a significant opportunity to refocus attention of the public opinion on the Italian grand master's heritage, and especially on some of his key works, while creating the necessary sensitivity for aprocess of their protection and programmed listing in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
