Text Visualization and Visual Analytics Based on Multi-layer Topic Maps

摘要

Text visualization and visual analytics are important to find knowledge buried inside the piles of text. We propose a new method that visualizes text based on the topic map. Topic map is a new ISO standard (ISO/IEC 13250) for describing knowledge structures and associating them with information resources. Text visualization and visual analytics, which based on multi-layer topics map, includes three layers: topics layer, keywords layer and resources layer. The method, proposed in this paper, provides a new view of text and helps to find new knowledge and provides a multi-layer, visual knowledge map, available for users to acquire the knowledge and associations among them.
