Radar Deceptive Jamming Detection Based on Goodness-of-fit Testing

One of the most important challenges in Electronic Counter-countermeasures (ECCM) is how to detect the existence of the radar deceptive jamming. During the coherent processing interval, the echo amplitude of the target follows the Rayleigh distribution, while the amplitude of the deceptive jamming is assumed to be fixed. We formulate the radar deceptive jamming detection as a goodness-of-fit testing problem. Monte Carlo simulations are performed to calculate the thresholds for Anderson-Darling (AD) test and modified AD test. These thresholds are then used for testing whether a set of observations follows a generalized Rayleigh distribution when the parameters are unknown and estimated from samples. The performances of the detection algorithm are illustrated through the results of simulations.
