摘要

Due to the complexity of underwater channel and various interferences, the resolution of underwater sonar image is low which gives rise to many difficulties to identify the edge detail and further processing. In order to achieve better performance of the underwater images through denoise operation, a novel Surfacelet transform is proposed and used as underwater image denoising technic. This new method overcomes the problem caused by traditional wavelet transform especially for its limited threshold. Considering self-adaptive threshold has been associated with Surfacelet transform, better result of image resolution as well as PSNR value can be achieved through the comparison with other traditional wavelet denoising transforms.
