A Space-time Diversity Scheme for Interference Alignment in MIMO Interference Channels

Interference Alignment (IA) can effectively eliminate co-channel interference, and increase Degrees of Freedom (DOF) for interference channels. In order to increase the diversity order and improve the Bit Error Rate (BER) performance, we propose a space-time diversity scheme for IA in MIMO interference channels. In the proposed scheme, different eigenvectors are selected to construct the precoding matrix for each user at different time slots, thus the equivalent channel between each transmitter and receiver is transformed to a time varying equivalent channel. Moreover, the proposed scheme achieves the time diversity gain in equivalent channel through space time processing. Compared with original scheme, the proposed scheme achieves optimum DOF and provides better BER performance.
