The high pressure waves through the gun barrel are an important issue because muzzle blast flow field exists during firing. Meantime, the impulsive noise from the gun has many negative influences especially damage to human bodies and environments. Hence, to cut down muzzle blast overpressure during the blast flow has attracted more and more interests. The calculation was based on standard κ-ε turbulence model and the axial symmetry N-S equations. The muzzle brake is designed by means of noise elimination theory. Compared with the antiaircraft gun without muzzle brake, the use of the muzzle brake can reduce approximately 74% of overpressure. We also researched muzzle blast overpressure by selecting different points of the ambient region. The same attenuation is showed. This study will contribute to comprehend the blast wave characteristics and further to get a good method to obtain muzzle brake.
