Distributed Spectrum Sensing Method Based on Non-Cooperative Game Theory in Cognitive Radio Networks

Cooperative spectrum sensing has been shown to be able to greatly improve the sensing performance in cognitive radio networks. Considering the overhead in participating in spectrum sensing, a selfish Secondary User (SU) may be negative. In this paper, we study the interactive decision of selfish SUs on cooperative spectrum sensing and formulate it as a non-cooperative game. Nash equilibrium corresponds to the desired sensing time. A distributed algorithm is proposed to achieve Nash equilibrium without requiring explicit coordination among SUs. Finally, Simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.
