Channel Estimation on 60 GHz-ROF Downlink Based on Compressed Sensing

The channel estimation is of importance to improve wireless channel transmission performance, but the system performance is affected by multipath fading of wireless channel in the 60 GHz-ROF downlink. So a novel channel estimation method with Orthogonal Matching Pursuit (OMP) is presented to solve the problem of estimating channel characteristics accurately in accordance with the compressed sensing theory. Firstly, nonlinear link parameters can be achieved based on QR matrix factorization algorithm by using a small amount of training sequences transmitted on the downlink. Secondly, channel impulse response is reconstructed by OMP algorithm in according with the sparse characteristics of the 60 GHz wireless channel. The simulation experiment of channel estimation based on OMP and Least Squares (LS) algorithm show that the presented method effectively reduces the training sequence number, on the other hand, channel impulse response can be reconstructed accurately, which indicates the superiority of this technology.
