In a RFID system, multiple readers are required to avoid interfering each other as much as possible. Some resource allocation-based methods are used to solve the reader-to-reader collision problem. In practice, however, the physical layout of the desired readers may be modified. In this case, many resource allocation-based methods become no longer efficient. This paper proposes a resource reallocation scheme for multiple readers with layout modification and uses the genetic algorithm as an optimization tool to dynamically search the optimal solution with respect to time slots and frequency channels. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed GA-based resource reallocation scheme.
