The blind recognition of Space-time Block Codes (STBC) is a key research issue for commercial and military communication systems. But few of investigations have dealt with the recognition of orthogonality of STBC. A novel algorithm of classification for Orthogonal STBCs (OSTBC) is presented to identify the orthogonality of STBCs based on fourth-order cumulants when the Channel State Information (CSI) and coding matrix are unavailable. Simulation results show that the recognition of orthogonality of STBC performs well with short samples, limited number of receiver antennas and various modulations. Numerical examples corroborate the performance of the proposed algorithm.
