The Paradox of Willful Neglect of Environmental Control

The overall Indian environment in respect of water, air and land had been continuously getting degraded unabatedly and despite the best efforts at all possible levels. Crores (tens of millions) of rupees have been spent through the various action plans to clean our rivers, but hardly any significant improvement had been noticed in the water quality of our rivers particularly at their various ghats where a large number of pilgrims, devotees, tourists and others perform aachman and collect waters for various religious ceremonies. In almost all other European and other countries, no such direct inhaling of the river waters is practiced.
