In Memoriam-Yee Seung Ng

With great sorrow IS&T observes the death of Yee Seung Ng at the age of 57. All who met him will remember the enthusiasm, intellect, and sharp wit that he contributed to any discussion. The imaging community has lost one of its leaders in his passing.rnBorn in Hong Kong, Yee received his BS in Engineering Physics from the University ofrnIllinois, and his MS in Electrical Engineering and PhD in Physics from Pennsylvania State University. In recognition of his thesis work, Yee received the Xerox Research Award from Penn State. Upon graduation in 1980, he accepted employment with the Research Laboratories of Eastman Kodak Company, where he held positions as research scientist, chief engineer, and intellectual properties manager.
