In every library across the country and in the world there are layers and layers of systems. Some of these systems are as simple as the late charges for overdue books. This money may be kept in an old frayed envelope only to be added up every year and put toward the library holiday party. Or, these systems could be complicated interfaces between evidence-based information and corporate or medical record services used by the professional staff. However, they came into being they developed over time and gradually overlapped one another.
