As the number of publications and television shows that threaten a major lack of food security increases, it seems that research should show valiant efforts to improve the chances that humankind will cease to starve. These efforts should be green in nature, and not upset the politically correctness of the major thought of the day. And indeed, these principles are present in many of these papers. The use and utilization of by-products, reduced chemical additives, reduced pollution are all laudable, and very useful. Can it be that young scientists have caught the mood of the times and are behaving carefully and circumspectly, and doing research to improve the food produced? It seems so. Congratulations to all of those professors who appear to be getting the point across, and to the students who are fighting for it.
