I have a Twitter account that I use to track food science and agriculture news. It has also allowed me to make contacts with several food technologists and aspiring food technologists. I was recently in contact with a food science student in Indonesia. This student is competing in this year's IFTSA Developing Solutions for Developing Countries Competition. The Developing Solutions competition promotes the application of food science and technology and the development of new products and processes that are targeted at improving the quality of life for people in developing countries. It is a great way for food science students to do product development by applying what they are learning.
