DVD-Audio, SACD Products Serenade Visitors at A&V Festa

DVD-Audio and Super Audio CD (SACD) products were among the highlights of A&V Festa 2003, a trade show organized by the Japan Audio Society. Participating in the trade show were 83 makers of audio-video (A/V) equipment. This was the first A&V Festa, which takes the place of the Audio Expo, a trade show suspended after its fiftieth staging. A&V Festa 2003 took place from October 23 through 26 at the Pacifico Convention Plaza Yokohama (Pacifico Yokohama), in Yokohama, Japan. Manufacturers introduced the latest trends in audio and visual products, showcasing new technologies as well as peripheral products. Sponsors were Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry; Japan's, Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology; the Jap'anese Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA); Japan Broadcasting Corp. (NHK); the National Association of Commercial Broadcasters in Japan; and the Recording Industry Association of Japan. The four-day event drew about 63,000 visitors.
