Audio systems truly have entered a new age as audiophiles focus their at- tention on DVD-Audio and Super Audio CD (SACD). Home theaters that combine audio and visual systems are widely used and audio systems such as digital audio players are carried around to listen to music captured from the Internet with a personal computer. DVD-Audio and SACD, once called the "next-generation audio systems," are being used in more applications, as users find new ways to enjoy audio systems. Audio systems developed along with media such as cassette tapes, CDs and MDs. As sales of CDs and MDs run their course, DVDs are catching up as a leading media in the market for audio-video systems. DVD players are used for much more than simple playback. Audio-video products applying DVD systems include DVD recorders and DVD-Audio systems.
