摘要

Effect of short-term exposure (3hrs) of mosquito coil smoke induced stress on spontaneous motor activity and on the activities of transaminases and phosphatases in the serum, lung and trachea of rats was investigated. The spontaneous motor activity showed an elevated trend from 60 min. till the end of the study .'The activities of Aspartate Transaminase (AST) and Alanine Transaminase (ALT) were elevated (P<0.05) in both serum and lung of mosquito coil smoke exposed rats. There was a non-significant increase in the activities of Acid and Alkaline Phosphatase in serum, lung and trachea of rats. This investigation clearly demonstrates that the short-term exposure to mosquito coil smoke induced stress could cause changes in the spontaneous motor activity and enzymic parameters due to the synergistic action of volatile and non-volatile chemicals that are present in the mosquito coil smoke.
