Tidal Level Measurement And Development Of Bathymetry Map For Cuddalore Port,india

The study was carried out to find the tidal level variation and detailed hydrographic survey of Cuddalore port.India.A bathymetry map was developed for Cuddalorc port using the hydrographic data.Tidal level variation was measured by tide staff.The highest and lowest tide was measured as 0,975 m and - 0.075m,respectively.A bathymelric survey of the Gadilam River where the port is situated was conducted to find out the profile of the seabed at various points of the port.The depth near the breakwater varied between 2.5 and 3 m.Bathymetry map of the river was generated using Geographic Information System Software (Arc info).
