2011 ADSA-ASAS Sectional Award

H. Duane Norman is the recipient of the 2011 Northeast ADSA-ASAS Distinguished Service Award. Norman grew up on a Jersey farm in Liberty, Pennsylvania, and was active in 4-H and FFA. After receiving a BS in dairy production from Pennsylvania State University, he began his research apprenticeship during his graduate programs at Penn State (MS, dairy breeding) and Cornell University (PhD, animal breeding). He was hired by Agricultural Research Service (ARS) as a geneticist in 1970.
