2014 ADSA-ASAS Sectional Awards

Sarah Reed completed her graduate education and postdoctoral training at the University of Florida (Departments of Animal Science and Physical Therapy, respectively). Following her post doc, she joined the Department of Animal Science at the University of Connecticut as an assistant professor in 2011. At UConn, Reed is the primary instructor for Horse Breeding Farm Management, Comparative Exercise Physiology, and Scientific Writing in Comparative Exercise Physiology. These courses complement both her expertise and her research program, which focuses on muscle growth and development using equine, ovine, and murine models. Reed uses a multi-disciplinary approach to teaching, using traditional and nontraditional classroom activities and research activities to engage students in the material and promote learning.
