Distributed Denial of service (DDoS) is one of the risky threats in the network architecture, before the Software Defined Networking (SDN) architecture come to the field. Software Defined Networking is the new paradigm, which differs from our traditional network architecture by centralizing the control over the network. It reduces the complexity and programmability of the network. SDN uses the Open flow protocol, which is commonly accepted by the SDN switches and controllers. This architecture is easily implemented with Edge computing. Edge computing is considered as the improved version of cloud computing. Instead of processing the data in the cloud, the data are processed near the source of the data. So, the edge devices (router, smart phone etc) are connected to the SDN switches and the controller, controls the overall network. In this architecture the attackers target the controller, because it has the overall control of the network. By attacking the controller, the attackers easily slow down the whole network and finally the controller fails to transfer the data. Here, attackers use the DDoS attack to spoil the whole network. In this paper we proposed a new algorithm to detect and mitigate the DDoS attack in the SDN architecture. In this algorithm, the entropy value is calculated to detect DDoS attack. This paper also analysis the proposed algorithm with earlier one. This paper also gives the new approach to detect the DDoS attack in the SDN architecture which contains the data in different format
