摘要

The Rheometer Advisory System (RAS) was built to assist industrialists who did not receive formal training in operating rheometers and conducting data analysis. The system adopted a mixed-initiative approach in its teaching and learning strategy. This paper discusses the generic architecture of the Intelligent Tutoring System (ITS), distinguished Interactive Learning Environment (ILE) and ITS in the context of teaching paradigm and describes the implementation of a mixed-initiative approach in the RAS system.
