The Cambridge Dictionary of Statistics, Fourth Edition

Technical dictionaries come in at least two flavors: multitome encyclopedic dictionaries of sufficiently prohibitive cost that they are typically found only on library bookshelves and single-volume dictionaries which are accessibly priced for the private library. Everitt and Skrondal's recent edition of The Cambridge Dictionary of Statistics falls in the latter category. Published in 2010, this fourth edition of Everitt's 1998 dictionary has been updated to include more than 3500 terms and more than 100 biographical entries. Everitt and Skrondal have done an exceptional job updating their dictionary with new terms in Bayesian statistics, causality, and machine learning. The updated edition also includes short sketches about important statisticians who have passed away since the third edition was printed in 2006.
