The authors' preface sums up their book with the statement 'Much of the material in this book is presented in a framework that is innovative'. This is certainly true. The book spans vast areas of information about the commercial aviation industry, starting with the development of the earliest commercial transport aircraft (for example, the Junkers F13 of 1919) all the way through to the current development of the newest aircraft. It takes us from the valuation and appraisal of an A380 through to the smallest Cessna, and includes detailed cost and data tables for all current aircraft types.
