Effects of Acupuncture on Hyperlipidemia and Hyperviscosity in Old People

Objective: To observe the effects of acupuncture on hyperlipidemia and hyperviscosity in the old people, Methods: Sixty subjects in treatment group were treated with acupuncture plus Ligustrazine, and another 60 subjects in control group were treated simply with Ligustrazine. Results: After treatment, there were extremely significant differences (P<0.01) in TC, TG, LDL-ch, high-cut viscosity, low-cut viscosity, hematocrit and RBC aggression index in treatment group, and there were differences in control group (P< 0.05), with significant differences between two groups (P<0.05). Conclusion: Acupuncture plus Ligustrazine has better effects than Ligustrazine in treating hyperlipidemia and hyperviscosity.
