It is a tremendous honor. I knew of Dr. Eisenberg's reputation as a teacher, researcher, and policy maker. Yet I didn't realize, until I met him, how much energy, optimism, and exuberance he brought to each project and initiative. He was a charismatic leader and a huge champion for patient safety from the very beginning.
