The loading paths of confined concrete in CFT columns werernstudied in this paper. The following conclusions can be drawn:rn(1) A shorter and steeper CD stage was found for the specimenrnwith a higher strength concrete, which suggests that, under thernsame confinement condition, higher strength concrete has arnworse confinement effect.rn(2) Specimens with higher strength steel tend to yield a higherrnBC stage with a longer yielding plateau, and a longer and gentlerrnCD stage, which indicates higher strength steel makes littlerncontribution to the fracture delay of the confined concrete butrnprovides a better confinement effect after fracture of the concreterncore.rn(3) D/t ratio significantly influences the parts of the loadingrnpath in both the pre-fracture and post-fracture stage of thernconcrete core.
