Indra claims successful trials of AI

Indra claims it has successfully tested with the Spanish Navy one of the world's first unsupervised artificial intelligence (AI) systems that can learn by itself and take decisions. The demonstrator model, designed in conjunction with the Spanish Navy's Data Monitoring and Analysis Centre (CESADAR), is aimed at predicting malfunctions and improving the maintenance systems and availability of ships. It forms the core of the Soprene project, which is due to conclude by the end of the year, Indra said on 18 September.
