Singapore Technologies Marine (ST Marine), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, has agreed the terms of its submarine joint venture (JV) with ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems-owned Kockums. Known as Fortis Marine Solutions, the JV was formed "with the primary objective of providing a higher-level in-country capability in the refitting and life-cycle support services" for Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) submarines, ST Marine said on 3 April. The JV is 51 per cent owned by ST Marine with the remaining 49 per cent held by Swedish company Kockums; it has been incorporated as a subsidiary of ST Marine.
