Spike missile launched from Elbit's UT-30 remote turret

A Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Spike-LR anti-tank guided missile was launched from the Elbit Systems UT-30 unmanned turret for the first time on 12 May 2009.rnConducted at the Drawsko Pomorskie training area in Poland during Elbit's preparations for two weeks of tests of unmanned turrets proposed for the Polish BWP-1M Puma infantry fighting vehicle upgrade programme, the trial resulted in a direct hit against a scrapped T-55 main battle tank located 4,000 m away from the launcher. The trial took place at night and was missile was fired by an Elbit operator.
