China's CH-10 tiltrotor UAV

China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) is performing ground testing of its Cai Hong 10 (Rainbow 10, or CH-10) tiltrotor unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology demonstrator in anticipation of its maiden flight in 2019, company officials told Jane's. According to specifications provided by CASC, the CH-10 - which is under development by the group's China Academy of Aerospace Aerodynamics (CAAA) subsidiary - is constructed from lightweight composite materials and measures 4.6 m long and 2.1 m high. It features an overall wingspan of 6.7 m and measures 7.9 m from one rotor tip to the other.
