Vietnam unveils Patrol VT tactical UAV

Vietnam's military-owned telecommunications firm Viettel Group has showcased its indigenously produced Patrol VT tactical unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). Images show that the Patrol VT UAV features a high-wing, pod and twin boom design with twin fins and rudders. It has a wingspan of 3.35 m, a length of 2.3 m, and a height of 0.78 m. The UAV propulsion system comprises a pusher engine driving a twin-bladed propeller. The performance characteristics of the production Patrol VT UAVs have not been revealed, although earlier information on a Patrol VT flight test prototype provided by Viettel in 2013 indicated that it has a maximum take-off weight of 26 kg, an operational range of 50 km, and a top speed of approximately 150 km/h.
