New SRW waveform to increase range, reduce spectrum use

Harris is developing a new narrowband capability for the Soldier Radio Waveform (SRW) in service with the US military. At present wideband SRW is used to meet higher bandwidth requirements, such as for video and images, over shorter point-to-point distances. The narrowband mode of SRW will extend point-to-point ranges, provide electronic counter-countermeasures (ECCM), and enhance network scalability, according to a Harris statement.
