PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optimum modulation waveform generating apparatus and method for reducing clock noise, a clock noise reduction apparatus for modulating a clock frequency by an optimum modulation waveform, a spectrum analysis apparatus, a computer program for calculating an optimum modulation waveform, and a computer-readable storage medium with the computer program stored, wherein the optimum modulation waveform can easily be obtained through calculation.;SOLUTION: A formula for calculating the optimum modulation waveform is obtained as a solution of a differential equation obtained on the basis of a derivative of a frequency change in a clock signal with respect to a time and of a maximum value of the sum of impulse responses at each period of a modulation wave and is a formula of modulating the clock signal so that levels of harmonics are almost made flat.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
