A first round of reorganisations has been announced by the British Army ahead of the release of its Future Soldier plan later this year. The British Army's head of strategy, Brigadier John Clark, was reported in the August edition of the service's in-house publication, Soldier Magazine, as saying that the standing up of the Special Operations Brigade would take place this month. This would involve re-roling the Aldershot-based Specialised Infantry Group into the new formation. The new brigade's Ranger Regiment would achieve its initial operating capability in December, he said.
