Avon Rubber changes name to reflect protection offerings

Avon Rubber, which recently acquired two personal protective equipment (PPE) businesses, plans to change its name to Avon Protection to reflect its revised portfolio, the UK-based company announced on 25 May.Avon, which has divested several rubber product businesses, purchased 3M's military PPE business, now called Helmets & Armor, in January 2020 to complement its chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear respiratory protection equipment. Ten months later it broadened its protection offerings by acquiring Team Wendy, which makes military and first-responder helmets.Avon said it has finished integrating the 3M business and that Team Wendy, which operates on a standalone basis from the United States, is meeting performance expectations.
