Electric propulsion MoU signed for RoKN's KDDX destroyers

General Electric's (GE's) Power Conversion business and Hanwha Aerospace have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to co-operate in providing electric propulsion solutions for the Republic of Korea Navy's (RoKN's) six-ship Korea Destroyer Next Generation (KDDX) programme. In a 28 February statement GE said that it would offer naval electric-drive propulsion solutions, including its integrated full electric propulsion (IFEP) or hybrid electric drive (HED) systems, as well as propulsion integration capabilities.
