India faces struggle to reach offset target

India's offset policy has resulted in work valued at around INR75 billion (USD1.5 billion) being discharged to domestic defence companies over the last three years.rnThe figures - revealed by M M Pallam Raju, minister of state for defence, on 15 July - suggest India will struggle to meet its own target of generating work through offsets worth USD 10 billion for domestic defence industries by 2011.
