Canada receives first Super Hercules

The Canadian Forces have taken delivery of the first of 17 new CC-130J Super Hercules transport aircraft from Lockheed Martin as part of a USD1.4 billion contract signed in December 2007.rnThe aircraft, a stretched version of the C-130J, was delivered on 4 June to 8 Wing at CFB Trenton, where the new Air Mobility Training Centre is being built for the aircraft's operators and malntainers.rnUnder an agreement with the US Air Force, the first two CC-130J aircraft are being delivered ahead of schedule, with the balance of the fleet being delivered by the end of 2012.
