Carr to take chairmanship of BAE Systems

BAE Systems announced on 12 June that Sir Roger Carr is to join the company's board of directors and serve as chairman, replacing Dick Olver in 2014. Sir Roger joins the company from UK energy firm Centrica, where he currently serves as chairman. Sir Roger also serves in a number of other prominent roles in UK business and industry, including deputy chairman and senior independent director of the Court of the Bank of England, and is a member of the UK prime minister's Business Advisory Group. He has also served as president of the CBI.
