India's Defence Procurement Procedure 2013 takes effect

India's Ministry of Defence (MoD) has published updated defence procurement procedures, which are designed to spur indigenisation, accelerate the processing of military acquisitions, and enhance accountability. The Defence Procurement Procedure 2013 (DPP 2013) came into effect on 1 June and formalises changes to the procedures revealed by the MoD in April.
