US President Barack Obama has said he is "deeply sceptical" about the Syrian government's claim that opposition forces used chemical weapons (CW) on 19 March. "Everybody who knows the facts of the chemical weapon stockpiles inside Syria as well as the Syrian government's capabilities, I think, would question those claims," he told reporters in Israel on 20 March. He added that the international community would have to act if it was confirmed that the Syrians had "let that genie out of the bottle".
