The US Coast Guard's (USCG's) sixth National Security Cutter (NSC) has been launched, officials announced on 14 September. Future USCGC Munro (WMSL-755) was floated off on 12 September at Huntington Ingalls Industries' Ingalls Shipbuilding division in Pascagoula, Mississippi. Ingalls has delivered to the USCG five Legend-class NSCs. Three more vessels including Munro are under construction: seventh cutter NSC Kimball (WMSL-756) is expected to be delivered in 2018, while eighth and final NSC Midgett (WMSL-757) is to begin fabrication in November. Munro is expected to be delivered in 2016.
