Trijicon has unveiled its Machine Gun Reflex Sight (MGRS) optic to aid personnel operating a machine gun mounted on an armoured vehicle, riverine craft, or similar platform. John Rupp, Trijicon's vice-president for business development, told IHS Jane's the concept takes the company's Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight (ACOG) self-luminous aiming system and creates a larger optic for mounted weapons such as 7.62 mm M240 or .50 cal M2 machine guns. MGRS's 2-inch-tall, 3-inch-wide viewing lens projects an aiming reticle on the glass so a shooter can use it with significant eye relief and greater accuracy, said Rupp.
